Alright, I have a rather confusing question if you don't know much about web domains. Currently, our community forums (the blue and black website) is using the domain CombatArmsForum.net and the main website is CombatArmsHQ.com. I have some plans to do some integration between the two sites, so when you visit our main website (CAHQ) you can see whats going on in the community and do more things with your account.

In order to do any integration between CAHQ and these forums, I have to use only one domain name. This means I would have to change the address to get to these forums to http://forums.combatarmshq.com or something similar, using the CAHQ domain name.

I can make it so CombatArmsForum.net and all of the current links into that domain are redirected to the new http://forums.combatarmshq.com domain name. So, to visit the forums you could still just type CombatArmsForum.net if you wanted to, but it would be redirected to the new domain.

How does everyone feel about this?

Signature Down Time
As you may know, there was a Combat Arms update today. This update changed their website (they made some changes to their URI structure as well) which made our signatures stop working. I'm not sure exactly how long it was done, but I fixed it as soon as I found out.

Play Without Using CA Website
I find it a rather annoying inconvenience to be directed to Combat Arm's slow website just so I can click a "Start Game" button to play. So, here is a quick work around that will work for everyone

1) Go to your Combat Arms folder on your computer (Default Directory: C:\Nexon\Combat Arms)
2) Right click on "CombatArms_Direct.exe", click Send To..., and click Desktop.
3) Double click the new shortcut icon on your desktop to play instantly.

Done! It will still check for updates and you can play as normal. Enjoy.

As promised, we are now running reCAPTCHA for newly registering users. This should really tone down the number of spam bots, although they can still manually register users and load them into the bot programs - so if you see spam bot posts please remember to report them.

Now, I know many people have complained about the current forum style and I personally find it ugly. I have no clue what everyone is looking for, so I've made a collection of phpBB3 style websites. I would like members of the community to choose the new design, not my self. So check out some of these websites, find a style or two that you would like for us to have and post the links or images here.

In a few days, I'll run a poll of some of the popular styles. I'll obviously be changing some of the graphics to go with CAHQ a bit, too.

Hello everyone, I know I've been extremely inactive recently. I got busy with college, new friends and such and lost track of CAHQ.
I'm actually on fall break right now, so I figured I'd get some work done on CAHQ, but I want to know some information before I touch anything.

What should I do with the forums?
Vote in the poll and make a post if you wish, I'll be reading 'em.

Personally, I'd love to get some vBulletin forums up here, but I don't have the funds

Whenever you see forum posts that are obviously spam, for example, a user that is trying to promote the sale of Windows XP CD Keys, simply push the Report button on the bottom bar of the post. Sorry it's so tiny!

Here is a picture of the report button and where it is located:


After you click the button, you will be brought to a new page. Select the proper reason and submit the form. This will notify all moderators about the post so you don't need to PM anyone. Also, it's only necessary to report one spam post by a user. If we find that all the user's post are spam, we can delete them all at once rather quickly, so no need to report them all.
